TCL Back-story Information

A few readers/reviewers have raised some questions about my novella, The Critchfield Locket. Below is a link to the back-story information that answers/addresses some of the comments/questions.

My original version of the story was very specific as to places, and times, and I had added in historical data to solidify those things. But, as the story neared completion, I decided to go a different route. I wanted it to have a timeless feel. Instead of saying that the year was 1890, I intimated an era by slight mentions as to clothes or transportation. I changed the location names from real places here in the U.S.A., to ones of my own creation. I wanted the reader to focus on the story without being distracted by some of the side details. In regards to the time travel ambiguity - this was intentional on my part as I felt it added to the mystery.
